2016 NFL Mock Draft Results

To say that the 2016 NFL Draft's First Round was a little crazy would be an understatement. Here are the actual results from some of the best NFL Expert's Mock Drafts.

NOTE: See the summaries below the chart for insight on how the experts truly did because some of them look worse and some better on the chart than they actually were.

DRAFT RESULTS:

Austin D. Jordan: While it looks like Austin only predicted 6 out of 31 players drafted, he actually did MUCH better. Jordan correctly predicted the Browns would trade down to draft a WR, Joey Bosa would be the first defensive player drafted, Leonard Floyd to the Bears (Bears traded up to get Floyd), Vernon Hargreaves to the Bucs (Bucs traded down but still got their guy) and was the only NFL Expert (and mock draft that I saw anywhere) that predicted Myles Jack would fall out of the first round.

Synopsis: Austin D. Jordan was actually correct on 8 out of 31 draft picks and right on 4/4 predictions. He correctly predicted the Browns would trade down to draft a WR, Ronnie Stanley would be the first OT drafted, Myles Jack would fall out the first round and that Joey Bosa would be the first defensive player drafted.

Mike Mayock: Mayock seemed to prove why he's the premiere NFL Draft Expert hitting on 11 out of the 31 picks, but he actually didn't do quite that well. While Mayock was correct in predicting Leonard Floyd would be drafted at #9 OA, he predicted the wrong team altogether which in my and other fan's opinions is wrong. Additionally, Mayock correctly predicted Vernon Hargreaves to go #11 but again Mayock was incorrect on what team would draft him. However, Mayock made a great call in his mock that the Titans would trade up to draft a tackle.

Synopsis: Mike Mayock was actually correct on 9 out of 31 draft picks and right on 2/4 predictions. He correctly predicted the Titans would trade up to draft an OT, Ronnie Stanley would be the first OT drafted, incorrect about Myles Jack getting drafted in the first round and incorrect about who would be the first defensive player drafted.

Daniel Jeremiah: To the naked eye, DJ hit on 9 out of his 31 picks, but if you look a little closer, you'll see he actually did a little worse than that. While he predicted Jack Conklin at #8, Leonard Floyd at #9 and Vernon Hargreaves at #11, he predicted the wrong teams for all of those picks.

Synopsis: Daniel Jeremiah was actually correct on 6 out of 31 draft picks and 0/3 on predictions. He was incorrect about the first OT off the board, incorrect about Myles Jack getting drafted in the first round and incorrect about who would be the first defensive player drafted.

ProFootballTalk: While it looks like PFT only predicted 6 out of 31 players drafted, they actually did better than that. PFT accurately predicted Vernon Hargreaves to the Bucs and Germain Ifedi to the Seahawks.

Synopsis: ProFootballTalk was actually correct on 8 out of 31 draft picks and 0/3 on predictions. They were incorrect about the first OT off the board, incorrect about Myles Jack getting drafted in the first round and incorrect about who would be the first defensive player drafted.

Pro Football Focus: By looking at the chart, it looks like PFF only predicted two out of 31 players drafted, but that is not the case. PFF accurately predicted Jalen Ramsey to the Jaguars (predicted a trade up which didn't happened), Corey Coleman to the Browns and Vernon Hargreaves to the Bucs.

Synopsis: Pro Football Focus was actually correct on 5 out of 31 draft picks and 0/3 on predictions. They were incorrect about the first OT off the board, incorrect about Myles Jack getting drafted in the first round and incorrect about who would be the first defensive player drafted.

So, based upon the results how do they rank?

1. Austin D. Jordan
2. Mike Mayock
3. ProFootballTalk
4. Daniel Jeremiah
5. Pro Football Focus
