Indianapolis Colts at Chicago Bears: Andrew Luck makes his debut in a tough environment against a tough team. Fortunately for Luck, Brian Urlacher has missed quite a bit of time this preseason and won't be 100%. Regardless, Jay Cutler shouldn't have too much of a problem hitting Brandon Marshall or dumping off passes to Matt Forte when he isn't handing off to Forte or Michael Bush in this one. FANTASY IMPACT: Matt Forte should be able to rush for 90+ yards, score a TD, and have 30+ receiving yards. Expect Brandon Marshall have 60+ receiving yards and for Michael Bush to have 1+ TD's. A very nice DEEP SLEEPER in this game is Donnie Avery, yes the same Donnie Avery I dubbed as NFLVR's Breakout Deep Sleeper of the Year before he decided to be injured pretty much the entire preseason. Regardless, Avery could have 70+ yards in this one. PICK: I pick the Chicago Bears to win this game straight up. If it weren't for back-door covers, I would have given the points. But, Luck is young and the Colts will let him gain experience even if the game is a blowout by the time the fourth quarter rolls around. So, the score could end up being 27-17 Bears. Philadelphia Eagles at Cleveland Browns: The young Browns are at home and Joe Haden's appeal has yet to be ruled on yet for violating the NFL's Substance Abuse Policy so he's expected to play, but that's about all the Browns have going for them in this one. The Eagles defense should plan on stopping Trent Richardson and blitzing like crazy on passing downs which should equal disaster for the young Browns. FANTASY IMPACT: The Eagles Defense should have a great day by limiting the Browns points and getting takeaways. Look for LeSean McCoy to run wild to the tune of 110+ yards, 1+ TD's, and 20+ receiving yards. Expect Trent Richardson, Brandon Weeden, and the Browns Offense in general to have a really bad day at the office. PICK: I pick the Philadelphia Eagles -9. I expect the Eagles to completely dominate this game to the tune of 31-10, late 4th quarter TD by the Browns to give them the 10. Jacksonville Jaguars at Minnesota Vikings: This is one of those games that will have zero impact on the Playoff picture in 2012 but has some very interesting story lines. How much will Adrian Peterson and Maurice Jones-Drew play? Can Christian Ponder and Blaine Gabbert be franchise NFL QB's? Will Percy Harvin get to play an increased number of snaps? Is Laurent Robinson for real? Can Justin Blackmon have an impact? You get the point, a game full of questions and I didn't even begin to scratch the surface. I know the Jacksonville Jaguars without Maurice Jones-Drew are worse than an expansion team, Jared Allen will be coming after Blaine Gabbert all game long, and Percy Harvin is more talented than any player on the Jacksonville Jaguars Team not named Maurice Jones-Drew. I have to point out again that I truly do not believe Blaine Gabbert is an NFL Starting QB. NFL Starting QB's do not crumble in the pocket or throw for less than 100 yards in a game as many times as they throw for 200. When I watch Blaine Gabbert play he reminds me of Raggie Ann & Andy and the funny part about that is I have no idea what on earth that is nor ever seen the show. Moving on. FANTASY IMPACT: Kyle Rudolph should have good game for him. However, we aren't quite sure what that is yet. So, I say Rudolph gets 50+ yard and 1 TD. When singling out Rudolph in this game you have to remember the Jacksonville Jaguars were the single worst team in the NFL in 2011 against TE's. Want to read something more scary, they didn't play the New England Patriots (Gronkowski & Hernandez). PICK: I pick the Minnesota Vikings to win straight up simply because I don't believe the Jacksonville Jaguars can beat any NFL Team this week, if they really do limit MJD. I say 20-10 Vikings. Miami Dolphins at Houston Texans: Now this should be a one-sided game. The Texans have a great defense and the Dolphins Offense is well, supposed to be uptempo. You can't help but feel for Ryan Tannehill in this game, at least I do but hey he has Lauren to console him afterwards so he'll be fine. The Texans should be able to dominate this game on offense and defense both whether Arian Foster plays or not. FANTASY IMPACT: The Texans Defense should prevent the Dolphins from scoring much and create a couple of turnovers. Also look for Owen Daniels to have 70+ yards and 1+ TD's. PICK: I pick the Houston Texans -11.5. I could see the final score being 30-6. But, the Texans could play prevent the whole fourth quarter so we could end up with 30-13 which would make the score a lot closer than the game. St. Louis Rams at Detroit Lions: The Lions should play this game with a huge clip on their shoulder due to the all of the off-the-field incidents in the off season and the lack of respect they are getting from their 2011 performance. Granted, respect needs to be earned on and off the field. Regardless, the Rams are at least half a season away from being competitive with a team like the Lions. I really like Jeff Fisher as a coach, believe Steven Jackson might have been the best RB in the NFL since he's been in it, and see some good things in Sam Bradford despite his less than stellar stats. FANTASY IMPACT: I expect Matthew Stafford to throw for 330+ yards 3+ TD's, Calvin Johnson to have 140+ yards 2+ TD's, and Kevin Smith 120+ total yards and 1+ TD's. PICK: I pick the Detroit Lions -7.5. Giving the points in this simply because the Lions are going to score at will, I could this one end up being 38-13 Lions. Atlanta Falcons at Kansas City Chiefs: This is a very interesting game to me because I believe the Chiefs are the best team in the AFC West, granted I pick the Raiders to win the West, but the Falcons time is now. If the Falcons can go on the road to Kansas City and beat such a good Chiefs team then I'm more than likely right to have picked them to win the NFC South, if not, well we will see. Anyway, I think the Chiefs are going to need a few weeks to get thing together, Charles, Berry, and Moeki's first real game action since being injured in 2011, Peyton Hillis' first game as Chief, Bowe held out, etc. In other words, the Chiefs may be vulnerable this week and the Falcons should be primed to take advantage of that vulnerability. FANTASY IMPACT: Julio Jones 85+ yds 1+ TD's and Roddy White 80+ yds. PICK: I pick Atlanta Falcons -2.5 and see the final score being 23-17 Falcons. Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: We are all familiar with how bad the Bucs Defense was last year and how spectacular Cam Newton was. Well, I have an interesting take on the Panthers. I think they've everything they could to lesson Cam Newton's role in the offense because when they started running the ball last season is when they started winning. Don't be fooled by Cam's first four games of the season last year because he was pretty terrible the last 12 games, as for being a passer that is. Regardless, look for the Panthers to rely on their rushing attack and defense more to win games and it's easy to believe that is a great game plan for Sunday. FANTASY IMPACT: D WILL, DeAngelo Williams will run wild on the Bucs Defense to the tune of 125+ yards, 2+ TD's, and add a good 20+ receiving yards. While trying to play catch up I expect Vincent Jackson to have 75+ yards and 1+ TD's. PICK: I pick the Carolina Panthers -2.5 and expect the final score to be 28-17. Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens: All NFL Fans love Monday Night Football but this division clash may not be very exciting for Bengals Fans. I love how so called experts and fans a like were telling my that I'm basically stupid a few weeks ago for liking Joe Flacco in 2012. Now, that they've began to figure out some of the things I know I don't seem quite as stupid anymore. Bottom line is when in a "star" QB is in a contract year and he has complete control of the offense, it's not a good idea to think have a bad season, especially with super talented guys like Torrey Smith and Ray Rice at his disposal, not to mention Anquan Boldin and so forth. Well, in this game the Bengals are banged up in the secondary and Joe Flacco will definitely take advantage of it. FANTASY IMPACT: I expect Joe Flacco to throw for 250+ yards 2+ TD's (would be more if not for the score), Torrey Smith 75+ yards 1+ TD's, Ray Rice 70+ yards rushing, 40+ yards receiving, A.J. Green 70+ yards, and BenJarvus Green-Ellis 60+ yards rushing & 30+ yards receiving. A guy to keep your eye on in this game is Brandon Tate because he could do something in the return game or even have a big catch. PICK: I pick the Baltimore Ravens to win straight up and I expect the score to be 20-17 Ravens but the Bengals to score a TD in the fourth quarter to make the score closer than the game really will be. San Diego Chargers at Oakland Raiders: Now this game will be what Monday Night Football should be, entertaining due to a lot of scoring. The Chargers will be without Ryan Mathews and Ronnie Brown has not been good at all in the preseason. Despite some experts thinking Ronnie Brown will have a huge game, I disagree, especially with Gaither out which doesn't help Philip Rivers at all. On the flip side everything is falling into place at the right time, Denarius Moore is back, Sebastian Janikowski's back, McFadden is full-go, Palmer is finally beginning to look good, etc. FANTASY IMPACT: I expect Antonio Gates to have one of those nights to the tune of 100+ yards 2+ TD's, Philip Rivers 260+ yards 3+ TD's, Malcom Floyd 70+ yards 1+ TD's, Darren McFadden 100+ rushing yards 40+ receiving yards 2+ TD's, Darrius Heyward-Bey 80+ yards 1+ TD's, and Carson Palmer 250+ yards 2+ TD's. PICK: I pick the Oakland Raiders -1 in a shoot out. I can see the final score of this one being 31-24 Raiders. OTHER NOTABLE FANTASY FOOTBALL PLAYERS: Robert Griffin III - 250+ yards 1+ TD's 40+ rushing yards 1+ TD's Eric Decker - 100+ yards 2+ TD's Nate Washington - 80+ yards 1+ TD's Jimmy Graham - 70+ yards 1+ TD's Braylon Edwards - 60+ yards 1+ TD's RECAP from Wednesday Night's Game: I picked Kevin Ogletree to have 60+ yards 1+ TD's on Twitter and Google+ (he had 114 yards 2 TD's) and Giants 24 Cowboys 17. So, I was right about Ogletree, the way the game would be played (tempo), tweeted Witten & Austin would be decoys (7 total targets between them), the exact amount of total points, and the exact score. I just expected the wrong team to win. But hey, the way I see it I was 3-1 in handicapping the game (3 - Ogletree, Witten/Austin decoys, total amount of points; 1 - Giants lost) which isn't bad considering how unpredictable the first few weeks of the NFL Season truly are.
